Acts 2 Chapter 2 has several parts to it. Remember, we are trying to see the big picture so that we can discover what God's message is for our lives today. 1. Pentecost - One accord, one place, each received Holy Spirit, each witness 2. People's response - Doubt and mocking 3. Peter's sermon - prophecy fulfilled, Jesus is Lord and Christ 4. People's response - What shall we do? 5. Peter's Appeal - Repent and be baptized 6. People's response - Gladly received word, baptized, continued steadfastly in the doctrine and fellowship When people were filled with the Holy Spirit what did they do? Acts 2:4 What was the purpose for the gift of speaking in tongues? Acts 2:5-11 What verses did Peter preach about in the old testament? Acts 2:17,18 What did Peter use to appeal to them to accept Jesus? Acts 2:22-36 What does repent mean? Acts 2:38 What does God want us to save ourselves from? Acts 2:40 This chapter is kind of a diagnostic tool that the Great Physician uses to see if we are healthy Christians. Like a doctor who takes blood and has it tested and then compares it to what is normal. What characteristics of a normal, healthy, living Christian do you see in Acts 2:41-47 1. _______________________________________ 2. _______________________________________ 3. _______________________________________ 4. _______________________________________ 5. _______________________________________ 6. _______________________________________ 7. _______________________________________ 8. _______________________________________ 9. _______________________________________ 10. _______________________________________ 11. _______________________________________ 12. _______________________________________ 13. _______________________________________ Take the test yourself. Match your life today up with what's normal for a healthy Christian. Ask yourself the questions. Decide to make the necessary changes to get healthy. 1. Am I ________________________________? 2. Am I ________________________________? 3. Am I ________________________________? 4. Am I ________________________________? 5. Am I ________________________________? 6. Am I ________________________________? 7. Am I ________________________________? 8. Am I ________________________________? 9. Am I ________________________________? 10. Am I ________________________________? 11. Am I ________________________________? 12. Am I ________________________________? 13. Am I ________________________________? These questions may cause you to cringe at some of the answers. The Great Physician only wants to diagnose our deficiency so He can prescribe what we need. Just go to him and ask him to make you a healthy Christian and to use your life to win someone to Him.
